How can I convert a VB file to FB other than using Fiel Aid? I Cannot use DFSORT either

Allocate the FB dataset and use option 3.3 (move/copy utlity).

hi ,

You can convert a variable length record to a fixed length record by using CONVERT on the OUTFIL statement. You specify the OUTFIL with an OUTREC statement, the OUTREC will describe the format of the fixed length record.

i don't know how & why i missed the last words of the query , which is conspicous enough saying not to use DFSORT.
