Hi all
I am new to mainframe.
We have got ZOS V 1.4 .I would like to know how long it will take for Installation and Customization of ZOS approximately.What we have got is serverpak.

There is no easy answer here. Are you changing over from an older version of OS390, and if so which? Do you have a concept for installation? It is very important to plan this well so that you can use your experience for the next installation. Give us a little more background, like will you have to reconfigure the disk allocations, etc. |

Our experienced staff of 3 spends about 3 months from receive of tapes to prod cutover. This includes customizing, refitting usermods and 3rd party products. Oh yeah, TESTING!
If you don't have experienced help, I would suggest you spend a little extra and get SystemPac. It's ready to load and IPL. Many 3rd party products can be incorporated.

does anybody know how to uncompress a file coming from an aix server in compress format in z/os v1.3? I have this .z file from the aix ftp'ed to me as binary and i want to uncompress it as a pds in z/os. |
