Hi,
I had a requirement. In the file I have special character. I need to replace those special character to spaces. Don't know the special character what will have. Don't have the list but it has to be changed to spaces. I searched the forum but explicitly the special character need to be include as part of ALTSEQ command. Since I don't know the list. All the alphabet (Lower case or upper case) and Numeric (0 to 9) should retain in the file. remaining things changed to spaces. Is it possible in sort. If so provide us the solutions. |

Thanks kolusu. But the 1st 10 character alone key fields. It does contain only numeric values. The remaining 240 characters contains valid with bad character. I could not use such many overlay syntax. Is it possible any other way. |

srinivasan.keerthana79,
You are better off writing a program to get the desired results when you not aware of the special characters you can have. _________________ Kolusu - DFSORT Development Team (IBM)
