Hi,

Need help with splitting a Parent report to individual Child reports. Here are the requirements:

1. Reports ID is after every machine carriage control X'8B' in line 1 at positions x and length of 6
2. Need to identify this report id string and route it to corresponding child report id's
Code:

>>
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX  Report ID1
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
>>
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Report ID 2
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
>>
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Report ID 3
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
>>
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Report ID 4
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Where >> is Machine Carriage control Hex val 8B

This Parent report outlined above should be split to four files Report ID 1 to 4

Thanks in Advance

Katuku

rkatuku0,

Since you are a new member you need to follow the rules.

Use meaningful topics (don't use the Forum name for the topic). Use a descriptive title to explain your problem. Post detailed information on what you're trying to accomplish. Do not make people guess what you mean. This will give you a much better chance of getting a good answer to your question.

Coming to your question check the DFSORT smart trick "Include or omit groups of records" in here
