When I use the QMF EXPORT command to export a QMF object to a dataset, QMF creates the dataset name in a way that I expect:

hlq.objectname.qmftype

Example: EXPORT QUERY TO EMPLOYEE places the query in

userid.EMPLOYEE.QUERY

However, I have a co-worker who tries the same command and QMF builds the dataset as EMPLOYEE.QUERY with no high-level qualifier.

I know my co-worker could export the query to the dataset name with single quotes around the dataset name to get the same result. However, the EXPORT command is being executed from a REXX command that expects the resulting dataset name to be in HLQ.queryname.QUERY format.

My question is: Is there a QMF command or ISPF command that would enforce the creation of the dataset with a high-level qualifier as the first node?

jim haire,

I think your co-worker has PROFILE NOPREFIX as default. Change it to PROFILE PREFIX(his-tso-id) in his rexx exec and it should use the TSO Id as HLQ
