Hi,

There is a requirement that only few users can view all the records in the file and the rest of the users can't see certain records. I want to know whether there is any way to apply this level of security while viewing the same file in ISPF 3.4? I think this can be done by splitting the files into two or more depending on the security needs. I want to check whether there is any other option for these type of scenarios? Please let me know and thanks for your inputs and ideas.

manu,

You cannot have the view/edit/update authority at the record level. You can only do it on the entire file itself on z/OS.

Look up dataset encryption.
