#1: 2o% increase in MSU after z/os 2.1 upgrade. Others notice? Author: chinatrain99, Posted: Fri Dec 05, 2014 7:45 pm — We went from z/os 1.12 to z/os 2.1 recently. October test and November production. There seems to be about a 20% increase in our monthly MSU bill. Our shop is going windows because the mainframe is so expensive, so, the purse holder gets really upset when mainframe costs go up. We're spending thousands on Windows and nothing is gone from the mainframe yet. So, they're sensitive, to say the least, on cost increases because they're being told the mainframe is going away. I can't see a way of decreasing usage other than shutting things down we don't need (dev lpar, unused Omegamon Monitors, test CICS regions at night). Anyone else out there feeling the pain?
