|
|
Hi,
I have a batch job which is schedule to run at a particular time everyday. This job uses the FTP protocol to send a dataset on the Oracle server.
Normally, the job takes 15 minutes to complete, but very often because of the FTP connection lost or some other errors the job just hangs on for a long time waiting for the FTP to complete.
Is there a way to have a permanent fix to this problem?
Thanks in advcance,
Regards,
Siddharth. |

You should probably run a trace on the line using some product like Sniffer to determine the exact cause of the problem.
You can potentially reduce the number of failures by increasing the TIMEOUT parameter which is a parameter that you can pass to FTP. I usually use TIMOUT=600 |

Thanks,
