|
|
Hi
My online program(s) want to access a static table from IMS TM. The requirement to be able to design it in such a way that we do not read the same record from disk twice. Instead it needs to first look at the main storage and then from disk.
Is Local shared resource an option ? Can the VSAM underneath an IMS table be defined as LSR ? Any alternate options available ?
Thanks

Sairamr,
Check this link which explains in detail about specifying 3 types of IMS buffer pools that control the IMS DL/I buffering services: the VSAM shared resource pool, the OSAM buffer pool, and the OSAM Sequential Buffer (SB) pool.

That's nice to hear, however, would request you to share what exactly worked for you? It'll help the other audience... _________________ Regards,

Sorry for the late reply..I found some buffer pools declared by default installation and managed to suggest a solution for this..
Sample DFSCTL card for OSAM Sequential buffer..
Code: |
**** LIST OF //DFSCTL CONTROL CARDS ****
SBPARM ACTIV=COND,BUFSETS=4,DB=IVPDB1
SBIC
SBCO
SBSNAP BHBUF=NO,SBBUFCB=NO,SBBUF=NO
SBESNAP EVAL=NEG
