Hello all-
Our shop has CA-VIEW (formerly SAR) and I have used the SARBCH batch utility frequently to retrieve reports or parts of reports from SAR.

Everything I know about it, though, is from what other people have told me, and I'd like to see if there's a reference manual or document regarding the use of SARBCH and the different parameters that can be used (/PRINT, /LIST) and their subparameters & usage.

Anyone know of a location to get this information? Our shop's information re: SARBCH seems to be contained in a couple of people's heads and nowhere else. Thanks for any suggestions...

Thanks Kolusu! This is exactly what I need.
I can never find these kinds of documents with a Google search (or anywhere else). Much appreciated.

Shaik,
I can access it OK.
You probably have access to ftp blocked by your firewall (this has arisen before with people trying to access ftp sites suggested on this board or 'the other board' (can't remember which)).
You should tell your firewall/security admin that you need ftp access in order to obtain essential documentation. Obviously you could get someone to email it to you but this wouldn't solve the problem for the future...

Hi Mike,
Yes you are right. I am able to connect to the other sites in this forum for documents. Will convey the same to the security team for ftp access.
Initially i could not trace out what the reason could be.
Thanks a lot for your time and help..
Thanks.
Shaik

brijesh_mca1,

CA-VIEW is a CA product and the manuals are not available online. If you are registered user then you can access/download the manuals from their website.

Hi Kolusu,

I tried using keyword JOBDATE and executed my job. Job failed with the below error.

Code:
 /PRINT ID=DP13W1A JOBDATE=22/11/2016
 SARBCH10  Invalid keyword name "JOBDATE"

For JOBNAME & JOBTIME also, I'm getting error "Invalid keyword"

Is there any problem with the syntax I coded?

Rather than using GEN, is there any way we can get the job log using date as input in control card?

Thanks,
Hema
