Hello,

We have launched the "Quick Manual Links" which will allow you to reference a manual without the need to navigate away from the helpforums page. The hyperlink has been placed in the header section of each page and is labeled "Quick Manual Links".

Enjoy!!

Thanks for including the "DFSORT APG" (even if it is the last link on the page). However, this link will eventually get old when it is replaced by a new version of the book. I would prefer that you use the following link to the publications page on the DFSORT website which lists all of the DFSORT books. I keep this page up-to-date with the most current links. A good title for the link would be "DFSORT/ICETOOL books".

http://www.storage.ibm.com/software/sort/mvs/srtmpub.html

Thanks.

Frank,

The reason behind the Quickmanual link is to have just 1 or 2 books for each language, utilities DB, etc. This would help people who are not only new to mainframes, but people who need to do some reading to upgrade skills on the various things available. For a newbie seeing all the books makes gets him confused as to which book he needs to look at.
ofcourse for DFSORT there are only few manuals to look at. But if you look at the Language manuals you will have a ton of manuals which even for an experienced programmer is a nightmare to look into. We will be updating to the links quite often , so the Programmer always gets the latest version. We will change the title to your liking

Thanks

Kolusu

Kolusu,

If you want to link to individual books, then "DFSORT Application Programming Guide" and "Getting Started with DFSORT" would be the ones to link to for beginners. But that misses the PTF UQ90053 doc which is not in the APG as well as the PDF versions of the books which some people might prefer. Perhaps you could have links to the APG, Getting Started, and "All DFSORT/ICETOOL books" with the first two being direct links to the books, and the third being the link to the Publications page? (Sorry to be so picky, but I've put a lot of work into making the Publications page as useful as possible and keeping it current, so that's where I'd like to direct people).

Thanks.

I am not new to mainframe but bunch of manuals often confused me, mainly due to extra time you have to spend on a slow network. "Quick manual Link" was really needed.

Thanks,
DIba.
