Hi,
I have a hulluva lot of data in VSAM that needs to be accessed by different transactions frequently and also needs to be recoverable.
Heard from an expert at my shop that Data Spaces mapping VSAM files. Any drives in this horizon??

Are you referring to loading your VSAM file into a dataspace? This is a special type of address space. Programs would then access the file in memory rather than read from DASD. Heard of it....never done it.

I think your expert was talking about DB2. DB2 uses LDS VSAM files which it loads into data spaces. It's recoverable because DB2 has sophisticated journaling.

Data spaces are non-trivial. You will need to use the DIV assembler service to access them.
