When Storage Management Support refers to ESS800 Mod3 or Mod9 what are they referring to and/or how can I verify that in the DASD Pool I have Mod3 or Mod9 using ISMF or another Utility?

Mod3 is a 3390 model 3, which has 3339 cylinders per volume, mod9 has 10017 cylinders per volume

They now go up to 3390-mod54 Shocked

Answer copied from other forum on which you posted the same question 10 minutes before you posted here:
Quote:

1. Google finds 500 references in .04 second, including this IBM Redbook about them: http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg247146.pdf

2. Why do you care?
Knowing that kind of stuff is the job of the Storage Management people; I have enough to do to keep up with application programming stuff. Let them (or SMS) do their job.

Arturo,

I realize, also, that folks don't bother to read the forum announcements

http://www.mvsforums.com/helpboards/viewtopic.php?t=8248

Cut&Paste works on this website, thus enabling folks with poor reading comprehension and typing skills (or those with an urge to insult) to spell names properly. Or, if you were to just mouse-click on an intended victims name (above his/her Avatar), the name will be included in your post, correctly spelled.
