Hello All,

Am trying to delete a VSAM dataset but its not getting deleted even after i tried with IEHPRGM,IDCAMS.But i can delete other datasets.

Kartick,

What error message you are getting?
Check the below links and see if you JCL is similar to the ones mentioned in the links.

What is IEHPRGM? I never heard of such utility.

It's IEHPROGM and it's found in the IBM UTILITIES Manual. bonk

The point expat was making is that IEHPROGM is not a VSAM utility so cannot be used to delete VSAM datasets. IDCAMS (AMS) is the approved way of deleting VSAM datasets.

I got the point of the VSAM delete but apparently he didn't get the point of IDCAMS and that the standard IBM utilities don't work with VSAM. I figured if he knew where to look, he'd find that out.
