I've already searched, came up empty. Can a column be altered/dropped from a table? |

I found this: It is not possible to rearrange or delete columns in a table without dropping the entire table. You can, however, create a view on the table, which includes only the columns you want, in the order you want. This has the same effect as redefining the table.
I hope this is not true. _________________ Thanks,

Hope columns can be dropped from tables in subsequent versions. Oracle had a similar siutation but now after version 8 they have 2 ways of dropping columns and can alter(increase) the length of columns.
It would be better if the people posting could mention the version or platform they are working on.
Thank you
