After the post on DB2 on Z/OS authorities, I thought of putting together another post on privileges. DB2 privileges are much more granular than authorities and unlike authorities, they are granted at a DB2 object level. Some of the DB2 authorities can be thought of as an encapsulation of a group of privileges.
Following are most of the DB2 privileges that you are expected to encounter on DB2 v7 on Z/OS. They are grouped according to the object on which they apply.
Stats (Runstats and Check utilities)
Archive (Archive Log, Display Archive, Set Log, Set Archive)
Use of Bufferpool
Use of Stogroup
Use of Tablespace
Execute on function
Execute on procedure
The DB2 v7 Administration guide has the details of all the above mentioned privileges -
If anybody still has any doubts on any privileges, please feel free to post it on the DB2 forum.
