OK. IBM needs data from the Logrec stuff. Software records.

Here's the deal. When I installed 1.6, I never set up any logstream stuff for logrec (or any other).

Then I came along and installed CICS TS 3.1, and never cursed so much in my whole life as I did over all that logstream BS.

So now I want to set up just a plain old SYS1.LOGREC, initialize it with IFCDIP, just like the good old daze, and tell the system logger to switch to using it.

I DO NOT need to read any 500 page manuals about sysplex and xcf and all this other stuff that has absolutely no bearing to the system I am on at all.

Any help would be vastly appreciated.

OK, I allocated a logrec dataset, DIP'd it, and issued the setlogrc dataset command.

I HATE that system logger crap. I can understand the reason for it, but the implementation is horrid.

But I'm just a beginner...
