Jack,

Thanks for the compliments.But I still need find the link for IEFBR14 setting the EOF Mark for SMS managed datasets. Sad Just before I was posting the format-1 dscb I was looking for a manual which describes it.

As you said I really don't know the manual. This is an area where the book manager is so effective, as you can search the whole bookshelf for a key word.

Since Format-1 DSCB is related to datasets and we are talking about SMS so I searched for DSCB on the sms bookshelf

From that point it is very easy to get the desired manual. It is found in DFSMSdfp Advanced Services.

kolusu,

We are trying to Allocate a Tape Dataset using a IEBR14.

We have a batch EOD job that writes into this Dataset with DISP as MOD. However, the dataset seems to get created eveyday in a different volume. What could be wrong ?

Hi,

Is it possible to check for the EMPTY ESDS ? I tried all above options for flat file and none of them giving me convincing output ?
