Hi

I have few doubts regarding stored procedures (both External Stored Procedure and DB2 Stored Procedure). Kindly advise.

1. I assume there is no difference between SQL Stored procedure and DB2 stored procedure? If it have difference, please list down those!

2. Could you please explain the program preparation steps (precompilation, compile, etc) involved in COBOL Stored Procedure (External Stored Procedure) and SQL/DB2 Stored Procedure in Detail.

3. I used to work with both COBOL and DB2 stored procedures. There we normally call a COBOL stored procedure from a front end application or through some batch program. Can I execute a COBOL Stored procedure (External Stored Procedure) using a run JCL by passing necessary inputs thru sysin cards?

4. If the above point (3rd) is possible, can you please provide me the sample JCL which calls the COBOL Stored procedure?

Please clarify.

Thanks for your support. And sorry if my question is repeated one.

With Regards
Sundar

Sundar,

You can get answers for your queries from DB2 material. Do not open multiple threads on the same topic.

vsr100481,
