Please re-concider "naming convention" for volumes.
When I am in 3.4 looking at my datasets and I give the command: "sort volume" then
- 1st I see my GDG entries "??????"
- 2nd I see my archived datasets "MIGRAT1 & MIGRAT2"
- 3rd I see my actual datasets on disk
So, if you would prefix the volume name with a character "lower than question mark" I would see my actual datasets first, right?
I'd like that. is it too much trouble? |

I would suspect that volumes have to have alphanumeric serials: A-Z,0-9. Thus you are retsricted to the EBCDIC sort sequence. How about sorting DESCENDING? _________________ Utility and Program control cards are NOT, repeat NOT, JCL. |
