Dibakar,

You can use the CICS inquire system command to get the version of cics.

Code:

EXEC CICS INQUIRE SYSTEM


Look for RELEASE to find the version number it will be 0410 for CICS V4R1, For CICS TS 1.3 it will be 0530 and CICS TS 2.2, RELEASE is 0620.

or if you have authority to issue CEMT command then

Code:

CEMT INQUIRE SYSTEM


or

You can search the CICS Job log for the message DFHSI1500 which will tell you the realeas number.

So, Release 0212 wil be for CICS 2.12 I guess.

Yes, we are using it as development region. But production regions are 4.1

The release on our installation shows 0610. Does that mean that the CICS version in our installation is 6.10. What is the latest version of CICS in the market today?

Manas Biswal,

I beleive that CICS TS for z/OS V2.2 CICS is the latest version of cics available in market,The version number for this is 0620.

Check out IBM's CICS to learn more
