Hi All,
I heard of hercules and Microfocus Simulator.
I'm interested in installing these in my personal computer(OS - WINDOWS). Can you please help me in better understanding the below points:
1) What I understand is, these two simulators will simulate only mainframe OS and not provide ISPF, COBOL compiler etc, VSAM,CICS,DB2 etc..in personal computers. Right ?
2) If ISPF,COBOL compiler etc, VSAM,CICS,DB2 etc.. is not available in these simulators, Can you please suggest me how to get all these softwares ?
3) I have also heard of some lease line which we can get for real mainframe connection. Can you suggest me any vendor provinding this service in India.
Thanks In advance.

MicroFocus actually provides everything you need, but it is a set of comercial products that you have to pay for.
Hercules provides hardware simulation. The 'free' MVS version that is available is rather old. Many componenets are available but I doubt about DB2 and CICS.
For COBOL and Assembler simulators (I believe CICS is available) look for z390 and zcobol
