An address space is a logical representation of the "virtual memory" available to a single user, including the private region areas and common system areas. The virtual memory for all users is managed in real memory by the operating system (the basic theory behind MVS). MVS numbers the address spaces (ASIDs) from x'0001' thru ???? as they are created. Some address spaces are data-only hiperspaces.
