Hi All,

This is the problem definition.
The jobs are reading one configuration file in read mode(DISP=SHR).
If any one want to edit that file in ISPF(EDIT) . Is it possible in MVS?
Here my application is not writing to the configuration file.

Can anyone please guide me.

Since ISPF edit requires exclusive use of the file, I believe it will wait until you no longer get a "data set in use" message. Why not test it yourself? Write a short COBOL (or whatever) program to open the file, read a record, close it, reopen it, and so on, then try to edit it via ISPF.
