Could someone please provide me with insight into contention issues that may arise when multiple jobs executing at the same time are inserting to the same DB2 table?

It's my understanding that the inserts will hold a lock until a commit. What will the lock be held on? (table space, etc).

Depends on the isolation levels . Read this first
