I have installed DB2 UDB on my Machine and I need help in cataloging a database , can somebody help me with the basic steps.I am assuming we have to type in the below commands in command center.I basically work on Mainframe Database z/os and not familiar with LUW.
Code:

DB2 CATALOG TCPIP NODE XXXX REMOTE YYYYYYY SERVER ZZZZ;
DB2 CATALOG DCS DATABASE AAAAAAAA AS BBBBBBBB;
DB2 CONNECT TO AAAAAAAA USER USERNAME USING PASSWORD;

XXXX     - LPAR SHORT NAME
YYYYYYY  - LPAR IP / LINK PARAMTER
ZZZZ     - TCP/IP NODE
AAAAAAAA - DATABASE NAME ON LPAR
BBBBBBBB - ANOTHER NAME FOR DATABASE

I am completely new to this kind of setup , can somebody help me here.

shekar123,

How about reading the manuals instead of assuming?

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v8/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.db2.udb.doc/start/t0005622.htm

You also might want to bookmark this page for all DB2 UDB manuals

http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27009554

CATALOG DATABASE Command can be found in the manual "Command Reference"
