Does any one know how to save a component in change man without coming out of changeman. The SAVE command is Disabled in my shop.

If not a command, any CLIST or REXX program which can save the component, will also do.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks
Ashish

ASh,

Try this

1.open the element in changeman in edit mode.
2.Type C99999 on the very first line (where it shows the line numbers)
3.Now at the command Prompt type CREATE and press ENTER
4.You will prompted with edit/view -create panel where you can specify the PDS or sequential file name as target name.give the name and press ENTER.now the element is saved

Hope this helps...

cheers

Kolusu, I guess Ashish wants to save the same member in the same package in changeman, without pressing PF3 PF3.

Ashish, This is a special utility provided by changeman, wherein you can always countercheck the changes by pressing PF3 once before actually saving them. I dont think that you can explicitly save the member by SAVE command.

Regards.

Hi,
ChangeMan :
You can save a component by pressing "PF3" key, and not by SAVE command.

If you want to look into a program in changeman(with hilite option) for a COBOL program, just open the component in browse mode. Copy the dataset name that appears at the top. Start 3.4, paste it there. The component you want to look into, would be found as a member inside it. But if you modify something here (in PDS) it would not be reflected there. In fact, you would not have the authorization to save it.

Thanks,

HI,
Can I suggest an easier way to do that ?
Instead of typing SAVE, try typing HGSAVE.
It works!!! Wink
