1. Click on the "Quick manuals" link on top of this page
2. Click on "Z/OS V1R4.0 MVS JCL Reference" under JCL manuals
3. Read up chapter 1 which will answer your question.

What are you looking for? The manual describes the various JCL statements and what they do. You might try purchasing a book. We have and still use a couple that were purchased when we first moved to MVS. Here is a link to a site that offers training and books: http://www.mvs-training.com/
