Is there a way via TSO or REXX to check and see if an existing SMS-managed dataset has been *modified*? I know that I can access 'date created' and 'date referenced' via different TSO or REXX commands, but not if it has been changed.

I have a large collection of files that typically get copied into a new filename when they are updated, but sometimes people edit the datasets directly without copying to a new file, and I would like to be able to see where that is happening.

Thanks for any assistance,
k2

k2,

If your shop have SMF collecting stats then you can find the details of who modified the file.

Hope this helps...

Cheers
