Folks
I have about seven years of experience in the area of application maintenance and development in Mainframes. I am currently In Europe on a project and shall return to India soon. I would like to apply to MNCs
like IBM, Accenture, etc. Can any of you who are working for these companies or have gone through their interviews share your experiences of the selection process. What is the level of questions asked, how many rounds of interviews, any other info that might be helpful. Any tips suggestions will ne very useful

Cheers.

Well...All IT Companies in India are on a hiring spree now. So, you have plenty of choices. If you want to join a MNC, you can consider Cognizant too. Its a company based out of Teaneck, NJ but the majority of work is done offshore. It has an employee strength of around 10,000 and growing everyday. It has development centers in B'lore, Chennai, Calcutta and Pune.
If you want to know more about the company or forward your resume, you can contact me at biswalmanas@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Manas

As far as I know, once your resume is accepted, you would go initially through a technical interview usually conducted by a Panel consisting of people working in the company and who are aware of what they require for the project at task. Post this interview, you would usually go through an HR interview. It is also possible that you may have to go through a 2nd round of the tech interview for various reasons unknown to me.

But with your experience, I dont think it would be much of a hassle getting into companies in India. You can send your resume to me and I can get it forwarded to both the MNC's. Mail me at manojagrawal@hotmail.com

I think the number of rounds of interview depends on urgency of requirement, inversely.

One common trend among people coming back is to take a break and then look for a new job. This reduces bargaining power. But if you get a new one while you are employed then you won't get a break.

If you are planning to give telephonic interview from Europe, then be ready to do it on your own expense.
