hi all,
i have two input files. i want in the output files only those records which are in first file and not in second file. for example if file 1 contains A+B records and file 2 contains A records, then in the output file should contain only B files.how can i do it in jcl?
to make the thing more clear, here is what i want.
file1----1,2,3,4,5,6
file2----1,2,3,6
outputfile 4,5
hi dibakar,
if i understand it correctly , sum=none will delete only the duplicates. but i dont even want 1 occurance of that record if the same record is in both the files. instead, i want everything other than the matching records. i will make myself clear.
file1 has entries 1,2,3,4,5,6
file 2 has entries 3,4,5.
now we have 3,4,5 in both the files. now if we give sum=none, wont we get 1,2,3,4,5,6 again? i dont want this. i want only 1,2,6. (ie entries in file1 minus entries in file 2)

Doubtman,
Please search before posting. A simple search for "nodups" in utilities forums gave me the following topics which exactly discuss the same issue as yours.
