Presently I'm looking for ways to connect DB2 UDB running in Windows 2000 machine from mainframe enviroment. The host language in Mainframe is not a constraint - can be COBOL if possible. I researched for similar requirements and came up with Mainframe Connect from Sybase Inc. Call Level Interface also seems to be promising (Not sure though).

Has anybody done this kind of connection (from Mainframe host language to a non-mainframe Database)? What are the points to be considered for this kind of enviroment setup?

Any thoughts will be helpful.
