Hi,

How can i get the GDG DCB information such as LRECL .
I dont know the model dataset and the job which creates new GDG.

sulaiman,

DSLIST(3.4) gives the Dataset info for DASD datasets. If the generation is on a tape, issue a LISTCAT on the the generation and you can find out the length

Sorry, Kolusu, LISTCAT does not show any information about the DCB characteristics of a tape dataset, since that info is not stored in the catalog.

Sulaiman, presumably you have a tape management system (such as IBM's RMM or CA's CA-1). Those products do track the DCB characteristics and they have query facilities which will display this info for you. Check the manuals for whichever product you have.
