|
|
As many of you know IBM will be dropping support for IMBED and REPLICATE as of z/OS 1.7 (http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=tss1td102022&aid=1). Catalogs defined with these options will need to be converted. There are also times when you may want to move a catalog to a new volume. Both of these situations normally require standalone time. We would like to offer IBM-MAIN LISTSERV members FREE use of our product to convert and/or move your catalogs. This can be done while your catalog remains OPEN and allocated to CAS on any number of connected systems. Should you wish to take advantage of this offer or require more details, please contact us at: free-use@dino-software.com. There is no charge for this service and the offer will end when z/OS 1.7 becomes GA. _________________ Larry Crilley

just so everyone knows, what Larry said is not exactly true.
IBM already took away the ability to allocate files with IMBED and REPLICATE some releases ago, but existing files with IMBED and REPLICATE will continue to work.
In the z/OS 1.7 announcment, IBM said that they will remove support for existing files with IMBED and REPLICATE "in some future release", no date given. 1.7 will continue to support them.
But if you still have such files, you should start to identify and convert them now, and Dinosoft's tool is a great help. _________________ Bruce A. Black
