Hi,
I am facing with a small problem when i give Search in this site.
When i give a Seach for some topic i get many hits. But after that when i click on those topics i am getting a message "Page Not Found".
I have all my pop ups enabled. I tested it with other sites.
I contacted one person who is good at these things told that may be the Java Bean is not recog some thing when i click on the search result.
Not sure the validity of this info.
Since this is my fav tech site of beginners like me , please help me out.
Thanks,
Karun |

Karun,
A few questions.
1. What is your Browser? ( IE or Firefox , Netscape).
2. What is the version of your browser?
3. What is your internet cookie settings?

Hi Kolsu,
Please find answers to your queries :-
1) Internet Explorer
2) Version:6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.040919-1003
3)For Checking Cookies i have done the following :-
In IE i went to :-
Tools>Internet Options>Privacy
Here i clicked Advance.
There i checked the Box "Override automatic cookie handling" ( i.e put a tick mark )
There under "First-party cookies" and "Third-party cookies" i selected "Accept" in both places.
The Box below it "Always allow session cookies" is also slected.
After doing all these the search option still not working.
Regards,
Karun |

Karun,
You don't have to select the "Override automatic cookie handling" . Remove the Tick. Now the bottom area should be grey.
You need to set the cookie setting on the temporary internet file folder
Tools>Internet Options>General
The 2nd section is Temporary Internet File folder
Click "Settings"
On the next pop-up screen make sure that "Automatically" is selected for "Check for newer versions of stored pages:"

Hi Kolsu,
I have done as per your Advise. I am just writing what i have done.
I unchecked "Override automatic cookie handling". Now bottom is Grey.
Now in Tools>Internet Options>Privacy
Now I have a Slider in which the slide is on the THIRD scale from the Bottom.
Now in Tools>Internet Options>General
Already it is there what you have told.
I.E in 2nd section is Temporary Internet Files
The "Settings" is clicked and "Automatically" is selected for "Check for newer versions of stored pages:"
After doing this and saving i checked again for links to search option.
Still not working.
Kindly advise.
Regards,
Karun. |

Hi Kolsu,
When i give search as i mentioned i get some hits. So when i click on any one of them i get another I.E window.
The exact error message that i see in the new window is
"The Page cannot be displayed"
Hope this info helps you to solve my issue.
I never faced this problem before 2 weeks. All was going fine. I used to get serach results and was able to view it.
Thanks,
Karun |

Hi Kolsu,
This issue of me not getting the search links started with the issue as subject "PLI..One File Two DDNAME....." which i posted.
I gave a search with various key words and though i get hits i am not able to read it.
It would be a very generous help if you can paste the relevant materials for this issue under that post or if time permits guide me in this issue
"PLI..One File Two DDNAME....." as i am out of my wits trying whatever all my options ( known to me ).
Regards,
Karun. |
