PTF UQ90053 for DFSORT R14 (available 2/14/2003) provides new DFSORT/ICETOOL features for join and match, arithmetic using numeric fields and constants, sampling records, repeating records, longer SS fields, easier migration, and more.

Frank,

Nice features.congratulations!!.On the first look some of the features are very interesting.I liked the SPLICE,SAMPLE,SPLITBY & REPEAT. Now many of the questions involved matching duplicates on 2 different files can be solved using these features. I wish I had the ability to test these features Sad

I'm glad you like the new features. Although unlike the other features you mentioned, DFSORT wasn't the first to have arithmetic expressions with fields and decimal constants, I think that will be very useful too, especially since the documentation is available online.

Knowing you, you'll soon be coming up with examples using the new features even though you can't use them yourself (I wish you could also).

Over the next few weeks or so, I'll gradually be going back through the existing posts here and adding new solutions with the new features where appropriate.
