Hi,

I COPIED a VSAM file used by the online region using IDCAMS repro. But I used the copied VSAM files in another JCL I am encoutering RBA not found error.Has this to do something with the way I copied the datasets.

Thanks
Ajith.

If the VSAM file is actually an IMS database then the answer is yes. If not, then I am not familiar with direct access to VSAM from IMS, but I do know that copying a GSAM file with standard utilities can have the same effect.

My assumption is that you are probably fixing an abend and you are getting the error on the restart. It probably has to do with how the data is organized in the file. A repro will reorganize the data so the RBAs will be off.

Hi,

I am taking a backup of the production VSAM dataset and trying to use the same in a test JCL.The JCL is a proved one and I am sure it wont be wrong. My doubt is that since I am not closing the CICS files while copying(using repro), this may copy the data wrongly. Please let me know how to avoid such a situation.

Thanks
Ajith.
