Hi
I have a question while executing DB2 via IMS.
It is clear that we have to use DFSRRC00 to invoke DB2. Also in the parm card we give many details. But the question is what does the last Y (the one in blue) stand for.
Because some people say that if we change the Y to N it will point to the test region. If it is Y it points to the production region.
Is it true and if which region of which database does it point to.
//STEP02 EXEC PGM=DFSRRC00,REGION=0K,
// PARM='DLI,DSNMTV01,M677367B,40,0000,,0,,N,0,T,,,Y'
Thanks in advance

In this DLI example, PGM=DFSRRC00 indicates that you are executing IMS. You use the second parameter set to DSNMTV01 to connect to DB2. The last parameter in your list indicates whether or not to use the IRLM (lock manager) which has nothing to do with test or production.
Check the DFSRESLB DD card for the IMS system load library. The database dataset names should also be included in the JCL.
The DB2IN DD card indicates the DB2 sub-system name as well as plan name. |
