In CICS assembler programs dynamic storage is aquired within the DFHEIENT macro expansion as per the storage layout in between DFHEISTG and DFHEIEND. In testing it appears that this storage is always allocated below the line even though the load module is Amode=31 and Rmode=ANY with Transacation TASKDATALOC=ANY and Program DATALOCATION=ANY. I would have thought CICS would try to use ESDA storage for these allocations. Does anyone know why this appears to be the case?
