Guys

What would you advise me on this? I am preparing for tech interviews after a very long time and I have been a little out of touch with the subject since the last one year. Is going through all the programming guides, manuals the best thing to do? This one is daunnting and also very time intensive. Or is it better to go through as many tech FAqs as possible ? What do u guys normally do?

this forum is a very good place for you to start with. go thru the different topics provided, and the techincal problems posed and the solutions suggested, if you are looking for a technical answer for potential questions.

cheers

Mfjin,

Reading thru' programming guides and manuals - theoritical way - will not do any good both from an interview perspective / to improve your skills. We tend to forget most of them and a good and experienced interviewer can easily figure out that we are not as good as we claim to be. The best way is to try out lot of things practically. There may not be any requirements in our projects to try out different things - thats when Forums like these come in handy.

Here you deal with requirements from thousands of posters - some questions will really be very strange - even in your wildest dreams you would not have thought that something like this could be done using some xxxxx utility/tool/programming language. You are getting exposed to many different requirements / solutions / views etc...Try them out - learn practically - you will never forget.

From an interview perspective, find out what your strengths are and work on them first. If you are not comfortable on something - tell it frankly to the interviewer and try to pull him towards your strong areas. I'm sure he will be convinced with your performance.

Thanks,
Phantom
