I am trying learn SPLICE operator of DFSORT'S ICETOOL utility from the pdf document DFOSRT:GETTING SORTED.However i have come to know the use of SPLICE operator as being used for Joining fields from different datasets as well as to match fields from different datasets.I am not clear while going through the document , can anybody help me a sample example with sample inputs to show how SPLICE can be used to join as well match.Basically i am interested in knowing the concept how SPLICE operator works.It will be really helpful to me if anybody can guide me ahead.
