Hi,

I am working in teradata. We use ISPF to load teradata tables and also export the results from teradata into mainframe dataset.

The export command of terdata exports the data into mainframe data set.
While exporting the data there are some Umlauts(German Characters) coming from the teradata tables.

After the export I am not able to see these Umalauts in the mainframe dataset. They are getting converted into some different characters. Can somebody suggest some solution to make these Umlaut characters visible in the mainframe dataset.

And than again I have to pass the contents of dataset as text file to an unix server.Hope they will be visible in the Unix Server Smile

Thanks in Advance.

Thanks & Regards!

ravikumar001,

What is the format of EXPORT? Is it ASCII? If so you will loose Umalauts. Why not use FTP?
