In a meeting yesterday someone mentioned that he intended to introduce CICS into one of the systems he was managing. However, he mentioned that because "PL/I - CICS was not supported by TSG" he was seriously considering the possibility of translating a lot of PL/I programs into COBOL.
Can anyone tell me what he meant by this, and is it really a bad idea to mix PL/I and CICS? |

I've been thinking about this, and TSG probably refers to an in-house Tech Support Group - I'd originally assumed that it referred to some external (possibly IBM connected) organisation. It was TLA soup yesterday, I can tell you! |
