Hello, This might be an easy question but I keep getting diff. answers.

Pls. answer.

I set FRSET to field, send map. The user modifies this field. When the map is received is MDT = (0 or 1) for this field?

I set FSET to field, send map. The user does not modify this field. On receive, (MDT = 0 or 1)?

Thanks.
Relaxing.

relaxing,

In both the cases the MDT will be on that is MDT = 1 reasons:

1.FRSET is used to turn off the Modified Data tags of all unprotected fields. If the user changes the field, the MDT will be turned back on signifying that new data will be transmitted which in your case user modifies the field.

2.FSET causes the MDT bit in the attribute byte to be turned on.By this the contents of the field will be transmitted back to the program whether or not the user enters the data into it.Usually FSET option is not specified since the MDT Bit is set automatically when a user keys data into an unprotected field which in your case you are not modifying the field.

Hope it helps.
