Hi,
Has anyone used the tool QA Hiperstaion, a product of Compuware. This is a tool that can record, playback and compare scripts for any VTAM application (CICS, ISPF, etc). we were actually planning to automate the testing of a mainframe application which runs through various ISPF panels and finally give output as an XML Document.
Please try to share your views about the same. I would appreciate if some pointers can be given about the performance and "end to end" testing capability of the tool.

Is the QA Hiperstation, an emulator software using which you connect to the mainframe ?

QA Hiperstation records VTAM data for playback purposes. It saves "to" and "from" images of the screen and can be used to automate testing. It can hilite differences between expected and actual results or be used to stress-test an application. It also has REXX procedures for editting fields such as date.
I have had limited use of the product but it is very powerful but required a certain amout of technical knowledge to use effectively. |
