We are running zOS1.7 on a Z890-A04 processor. My question pertains to zVM and it's features. Management is looking at moving an application off the MF to a new application, on what else but Linux. IF 5 yrs from now they need to go back to the MF and the z890 is not available can zVM imitate a z890 on whatever box would be available at the time? I am trying to find out if zVM has the ability or a parameter that can imitate another box? In the old days vm had a parm cpu=XXXX, does zVM?

Crazy I know but that is what was asked.

Any info or where to look would be great, thanks
