In your output file , you are showing record a1,b1,c2 & a2,b2,c4 which is not present in both the files .Please let me know if i am wrong. _________________ Shekar

The Key here is just the first 2 variables (Positions).
Those records are there in the output file since the key a1,b1 and a2,b2 is present in both the files.
