|
|
Hi,
I want to expand the length of the KSDS file. Currently the logical length of the file is 500. I am unable to make the decision that what is the size i can expand without affecting the processing and efficiency.
The inofrmation about the file is mentioned below.
Data - Control Area Information:
Physical record size: 4096
Records per track: 12
Tracks per CA: 2
Retrieved records: 191770865
Max record number 0
Number CA splits: 3
Control Interval Information:
Size-data: 4096 Index: 7680
Number CIs/CA: 192
Number free CIs/CA: 19
Percent free CIs/CA: 10
Percent free bytes/CI: 20
Number CI splits: 1348
Please let me know if any information required. Please let me know the way to find out the perfect record length (for expansion) without affecting program processing/efficiency. |

Why do you need to increase the length of the record in the file ?
The people that create and maintain the programs that access the file are the ones that will know the correct lengths to specify. |
