what do you mean - stopped. was there any error or msg given in the job. You need to look at the jes output.

Does anyone know if the maimum number of XCOM steps in one job is 80?
although there are limitations to the number of steps in a job, number of dd statements in a step, etc.. the limitation is based on the JCL not what the job steps are doing. in any event, if the jcl exceeded any limits, the job would not have run; no steps would have been executed.
you need to take a deep breath, relax and look at jes to see what happened between the 80'th and 81st step. it could be a simple as a blank line between the steps which would have signaled the end of the JCL stream - which would generate NO ERROR; simply end of job. _________________ Dick Brenholtz
