Jobs copying one KSDF to another KSDF using IDCAMS consumes large CPU time for copying and building the AIX; is there any means the file definition / usage of any parameter lessen the consumption of the CPU time; please let know.

Do not build the AIX during the copy.

Copy the KSDS, then build the AIX - It is much faster

Both are taking long time; Copying around 10 millions records takes 2 hours to copy & build the AIX.

Vinodch,

it took you a week to respond to expat's question. least you could have done is give him an answer. in addition to wall clock, what was the actual cpu time - for each?

also, what are the record sizes? how big is your ksds primary key. How big is the AIX?

And how do you do it ............

Do you define the AIX and PATH at the same time as the base cluster

Sorry for the late reply.

The base cluster will be defined first - copy all the records - once the copy is done - create the AIX and build the same.

The file has around 10 millions of records. The CPU time for copy base cluster is around 16.77 and 31.21 is for building the AIX.
